El cambio es suave. El hecho de verla invertida se debe a que cambia el ángulo de visión respecto de una persona en el hemisferio sur a una que esté en el norte. Y no es que cambie de menguante a creciente. Es que en el hemisferio sur cuando está creciente tiene forma de "C", mientras que en el norte la tiene de "D". Cuando es menguante en el sur es como una "D" y en el norte como una "C"
